There is a growing body of research that shows children who cultivate a relationship with nature develop a strong sense of self-awareness, cognition, resilience, and other foundational elements of good character. Our classes utilize child passions such as wandering and questioning to inspire the love of learning. Led through challenges and self-reflections, children will refine their understanding of who they are, what they value, and what gifts they bring forward.

Growing in a tandem with a world of digitized communication and instant gratification, children, just like adults, need to practice presence and patience for a balanced life. Our programs create opportunities for children to hold space for self and others. Some of our practices include sharing daily gratitude, working on collaborative projects, appreciating cultural traditions, practicing stillness, and more. Our small class capacity ensures a high-quality experience filled with memories and new friendships.

After all, children must learn to love nature before they can be asked to protect it. Our challenge, then, isn’t only to teach them about the outdoors, but to help make them feel at home while outdoors. While conventional classroom education focuses on knowledge-based learning, our outdoor program is rich with experience-based learning. Once children begin to feel passionate, resourceful, and safe outdoors, stewardship naturally follows.
